El Karama is a
family run business that has operated on this private property since
1963. We support around sixty families directly through employment
on the ranch and are dedicated to the wider image of Laikipia
District as a progressive area where communities work together.
Preserving the integrity of the Laikipia ecosystem by creatively
managing the natural resources to improve the livelihood of its
people is our goal.
As a family, we are passionate about wildlife and lead an outdoors lifestyle where
ranching, painting & sculpture and walking safaris are
central to the way we live. As Kenyans, we feel proud and privileged
to be able to share this with anyone who cares to visit.
In addition to the Lodge, El Karama Ranch has a simple riverside campsite available.
